Memory Lane

I have started sorting out the gigabytes of files I have from sim racing. The following set originate from 2012, where several Apex Racing League members all took on the challenge of the iRacing Daytona 500.

The official event report is available on the iRacing News website, after I ended up on the Podium in the C+ class in my split.

I can remember there was an impromptu live stream of the event, with two commentators staying up to watch the finish, which was e an epic battle between JD Reyes and Kenneth Thomas battling it out with JD eventually taking the win. There was a proper Days of Thunder style end. Livestream/Twitch or whatever we were using at the time didn’t deem it important enough to keep (or it was deleted) – but unfortunately I’ve never managed to watch it back – but if I am lucky, I have have a replay somewhere from the event.

Check out the strength of field – I can remember it certainly felt a lot higher than it was.

Unfortunately, I heard in September 2014 on the iRacing forum that JD had passed and was no longer with us. RIP.
